Meet Juanita Marshall

MSHR. LPC-S

I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoy helping individuals with issues such as ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, and anger. I also have experience with children and teens with ADHD, ADD, ODD, low self esteem and much more. I am neurofeedback trained and EMDR trained, which gives me the ability to treat trauma along with behavioral issues. By treating the two together we are able to fix the core issues along with the behavioral issues. I love clients with eclectic issues, goals, and needs and collaborating with them to achieve these goals and enhance their lives.

All of my therapy is individualized to your needs because I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship I build with my clients. To better serve my clients I have a wide variety of specialties including QEEG brain maps, neurofeedback, and EMDR to help children, teens, families, couples, and adults with enhancing their lives.

I create a safe, compassionate, authentic and caring environment where I guide in helping the clients heal and feel they can make empowered decisions about their individual and professional lives.

Through Counseling & Specialized Therapy we can support the process by helping you work through dilemmas, challenges, and traumas in such a way that you have optimal control of your life. With solid values and a holistic perspective, we will implement healthy strategies to guide the way. Mind, Body, Soul – complete and whole!

I passed the National Counselor exam in 2018. I am a member of ISNR, OKMHCA, QEEG-DC

I am a lifelong resident of Oklahoma. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Human and Family Services from Southwestern Christian University and my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Mid America Christian University. Licensed Professional Counselor (#6136) Jennifer Allen MS, LPC.

My Experience: Throughout my professional career I have had the privilege of working in Oklahoma’s Community Mental Health System in multiple roles which has allowed for comprehensive exposure in providing mental health services. My training and experience include providing individual, group, couple, and family services to clients in infancy through end-of-life stage in office, home, school, and community-based settings. After providing direct care for many years, I spent the last three years managing two Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics. This entailed responsibility for all clinical and nonclinical mental health service needs for two Oklahoma counties. This hands-on experience has allowed me to work extensively with community and individual crises, including assessment, treatment, and prevention. My experience has given me competency on a micro and macro level of crisis management. I professionally and personally have served children and families within the Child Welfare System for over 20 years. Certifications, training, experiences, personal research, readings and receiving my own ongoing supervision and professional support has provided me cultural competence and a clinical skill set within the counseling field of practice.

My Approach: Relationships, confidentiality, and positive outcomes are at the core of my practice. I view therapy as a relational, developmental process that is a collaborative approach. The therapeutic alliance between counselor and client is foundational in the developmental process of attaining improved health. My goal is to connect, process experiences, renew hope, alleviate symptoms, generate results, and celebrate successes by offering a commitment to building trust, while providing confidentiality and safety. Each session is time devoted fully to you. Using Best Practice modalities, theories and techniques, your session times will be used to build our individualized, therapeutic relationship and to assist you in exploring, identifying, and processing thoughts and feelings, obtaining personal restoration, development, healing and growth. I will follow the NBCC Code of Ethics and the regulations, codes and rules set forth by the State of Oklahoma. My expectation: In therapy, like all things, you get what you put into it. My expectation is that, with support and guidance, you invest in yourself. The commitment to attend sessions consistently, to have patience with me, you and your process as well as being open will all jump start your success. Please understand that as your therapist I am not here to, “fix,” you but instead I will support and guide you in a collaborative approach in the process.
